A personal message from Linda and Peter Haycock (Garys parents)
We wish to thank all of you wonderful people who have been thinking of our son Gary in this the first year since his passing. Although nothing will ever stop the awful ache in our hearts, we want you all to know you are in our prayers. You loved our son and we know he loved you right back. Although we do not know all of you personally, just a few really, we would be happy if you accepted our thanks for remembering Gary. To us you are all wonderful, beautiful people and we hope you all have wonderful happy, loving lives. Be strong, be happy. This is our wish for you, and we know that Gary would have wanted that for his children Jordan, Leah and Charlie. They are Garys legacy, and they bring us a great comfort. God bless you all.
Hello everyone, i have a personal message from Linda and Peter (Garys Parents) and James his Brother. They have asked me to relay to you their sincere thanks for all the loving support and messages that have been left following Garys untimely and tragic death. They would like to say just how much comfort they have gotten from the messages, poems and cards. They have read every message left for Gary and have them all printed off as a keepsake to help get them through the many difficult times ahead. They ideally would like to thankyou all personally, but as they do not know many of you, they have decided that this was the best way to do so. They were overwhelmed with the attendance of so many people at Garys funeral, this reinforced to them how much Gary was loved by you all. This has been a very difficult time for them as you can imagine, but knowing how popular and loved Gary was, has helped them cope and gain the strength needed to carry on facing each day.
Garys Children Jordan, Leah and Charlie will all be told about this group when the time is right and will have copies of the messages, so that they too know what a loved and much missed person their dad was to everyone, not only them.
This week finally brought news from the coroner on the cause of Garys death. The waiting has been unbearable for the family, but the verdict brought some relief. Gary died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome with an unknown cause. This is often referred to as a death similar to cot death, but in adults. As you can imagine this news has brought mixed emotions, but a sense of peace, that no intervention could have either prevented Garys death or indeed saved him, means that it simply was a tradgedy no one could have forseen. Gary has left a legacy in his children and the friends that he made in his all too short life, we should be grateful for the short but fufilling 28 years that we had him in our life. Resting with the Angels eternally.
Merry Christmas Gary, its gonna be a hard day for your closest family today, my thoughts are with them. I hope your having a big party up there Gary lots of love cousin Ang x
A verse for Gary's family and friends, I'm sure this is what he would want to say to those grieving
Don’t grieve for me, now I’m free.
I’m following footpaths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned and bid farewell to all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to live, to sing, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace at close of day.
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss.
Ah yes these things I too will miss.
Be burdened: deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full: I’ve savoured much.
Good friends, good times;
A loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wants me now – he set me free.

My Poem for Gary.
Gary was a man who shed so much light, he lightened up the room both day and night.
He made people laugh, he made people smile, his family and children to whom he was loyal.
He leaves us today and leaves us with thought, that he will be with us forever in the life of our thoughts.
God takes the good ones and calls out their name, Gary was one who then heard his name. He will be looked after in death as in life, and always remembered in the times of our life.
* Rest in peace mate, i hope you liked the poem. We never saw each other after our school years but kept in touch on facebook. I know we were not as close as you were to a lot of people but i knew a good lad when i met one and you always remained the same. Be missed by a lot of people, but never forgot.

It's been a week since you were taken,
It's so hard to deal with, all hearts are breaking,
You are one amazing guy,
Always had a heart warming smile,
Everyone who knows you have warming stories to tell,
It hurts me to think you had so many more stories to tell,
But sadly now you're gone,
And everyone is missing a certain special someone,
You watch over your family and your little ones,
You'll be there angel now and help them all along,
Thank you for all the good times,
They will stay with me for the rest of my life!!!
You sleep tight babes!
